ANDIE (2019)

These prints originate from photographs I made of my sister several years ago. The images existed digitally, stored and rarely revisited. Returning to them through a new process became a way of re-engaging with memory.

In response to the speed and disposability of digital images, I wanted to slow photographs down. Using a self-devised photo decalcomania process, the images rest on the surface rather than sink into it, clinging like a thin membrane. Each print carries traces of its own making. Wrinkles, edges that lift, and imperfections create moments where the image almost slips away—echoing the instability and fragility of memory itself.
